![]() ![]() Scenario 3: You walk into a stall, just like you would if you had to use the bathroom, confident in the fact that there will be toilet paper. If there are new machines on the wall, and if they’re free, that’s also great. You build them into your cost of running your business and you press on. And passing along the cost to your employees and customers is not how you approach toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. Carrying quarters around today is the equivalent of trying to churn your own butter just to make toast. They are usually rusted out, inoperable, or need quarters. Scenario 2: Once upon a time there were period product dispensers in some bathrooms. And this includes women-owned businesses as well. ![]() It just so happens that somehow, collectively, we have all just not put enough thought into it. Nobody is being malicious and refusing to buy period products. Why? Because businesses that love and respect their female employees and customers simply haven’t thought of it. Scenario 1: You head into the bathroom and there are no period products. Here are three scenarios of how this will go down: Maybe you felt it happening with enough time to excuse yourself to the restroom. Maybe you remembered to tuck a tampon up your sleeve. What are we going to do now? We are going to sit down, close our eyes and feel proud and grateful that we are part of a movement that is empowering the next generation of women. It has never been more true, we all have superpowers to make change. In the past year we watched a high school student draft and pass legislation for all of the schools in her state to carry free period products. We witnessed 2 badass Moms raise $2M to fund dispensers for every school in their state, and we had a private donor sponsor a first period pouch for every 10 & 11 year old girl in her state. It is not just in the donations that we make but all of the high school students, college students and community leaders that are fundraising and advocating for free period products in all public spaces. ![]() It is because of all of you that we know the power of community. It is a movement because we wanted to make better and more eco-friendly period products accessible to everyone. We had no idea that through the hardships of COVID we would uncover the path to make this dream a reality. We often get asked why our brand is called TOP? It’s an acronym for “The Organic Project” because what we are building is more than a brand, it is a movement. From our TOP the organic project family to yours this holiday season - thank you! ![]()
